here’s a little bag of truths that is floating around in my head from our trip to the left coast:
deep calls to deep. deep friendships can go deep immediately…even after years of separation. these are some of the sweetest experiences of my life!
we need to appreciate what we have…not what we don’t have. it’s nothing but fantasy to long for the past.
i miss the mountains more than i miss the beach. the smell of pine trees and a fire in the crisp mountain air noses out the smell of salt air and crashing waves.
but until you ride in an open jeep in 104 degree temps… well, you haven’t experienced life!
creed was a great band. overblown and self-absorbed…but they were great. especially the first two cds. i could have listened to them for the entire trip.
loyalty in friendship means everything.
it was kind of a hassle at times, but the “hands free” driving law in california is a great thing. this got confirmed yesterday when i watched a girl plow into another car…while she was absorbed in conversation on her cell phone. glad nobody was really hurt. stupid girl…
wanda knows what a monsoon is now. she likes the sound of the word. you should ask her to say it next time you see her.
many native texans don’t see what all the fuss is over the in ‘n out burger. i forgive them.
most native californians think that barbeque is an event in the backyard on a saturday afternoon. they need to visit texas…to find out that barbeque is a food group.
heard a song on the radio that had a line that stopped me in my tracks: “you are always one phone call away from your knees.” wow.
we missed being in a church building on our final sunday. we missed being with north point every day.
