things are really starting to heat up in the padre weekly calendar…
there are officially eleven days left until our men’s mexico trip. yeesh.
planning for mexico is definitely something that fills space in my daily routine now…
my wife has been addicted to the winter olympics.
you can pretty much ask her anything about curling, the nordic combined or ice hockey and she’s got an answer now. wow.
i made a good rebound at bowling this past tuesday. a 166 average. and wanda got whatever put jason in the men’s bathroom.
wanda is now on day seven of her stomach virus. crummy way to live, but a great way to lose weight.
i have been eating on my own the whole time she’s been sick. i can eat alone, but i don’t like doing it for this long.
lots of really good meetings with people this past week. good conversation. great willingness to talk and relate on a deep level.
we need more of that.
i’ve really been enjoying the small group that meets at my house on thursday nights. it’s turned into our weekly family group.
i miss the days of youth group bible studies at my house, but this is a great replacement.
do you realize you could be doing this?
just pick a night, ask some people to join you for dinner and make it happen.
read a book together…discuss the sermon from the past sunday…read through the bible out loud a little at a time…study one of paul’s shorter letters…follow a daily bible devotion plan and talk about it…discuss parenting joys and difficulties…go through a financial planning study…take turns telling your personal stories…the list is limitless!
i went to watch chris (my oldest son) umpire a high school tournament baseball game on friday night. it was drizzly, windy, cold, and an all-around awful night. i was so cold my bones ached. i love baseball.
got up the next morning and watched my other son coach a high school baseball game in the colony. it was an absolutely perfect, sunny day. no wind. bright blue skies. crystal clear. i burned the top of my shaved head. i love texas.
this was a great sunday at north point. good attendance. new faces.
i’m continually amazed at how people use the internet to find out about churches before they visit in person.
i know i would.
absolutely awesome words to lead us into communion by nate and dusty!
can’t believe i actually called the jews of paul’s day the playground bully.
it is really exciting to see more and more people reaching out to new folks…including them in conversation…and introducing them to others.
the band was great. before the throne was perfect for after communion and inside out spoke directly to the hearts of our people…as they were speaking directly to god. it was a great moment.
have you told the band how much you appreciate them, lately? they make a ton of sacrifice to lead us in singing praise to god.
got a new sunday lunch hangout…fuzzy’s tacos in lewisville opened this past week. good food and a great atmosphere…plenty of space to pull up groups. sunday just isn’t sunday if we aren’t eating together.
it’s in the bible…
remember…no wall-building…no playground rules…no hostility. keep the peace that jesus bought…at all cost.
