here are some of the pros and cons of the farra summer travelquest…
pros:
riding in the car with wanda is always fun
first step in the pacific ocean
great gas mileage (36 mpg)… the hyundai elantra rocks
seeing old friends
storytelling
no reason to get up in the morning
visits to petco to see the padres…amazing stadium
smell of salt air on the coast
looking at the mountains everyday…and knowing that i could be in them whenever i wanted
carne asada, rolled tacos with guacamole and cheese, and the mighty fish taco in it’s native habitat
cool evenings
sleeping with the windows open
double doubles
driving down pacific coast highway
visiting the places where wanda and i grew up
visiting the places where wanda and i became “mike and wanda”
seeing our old home in east san diego
seeing the school safety light on el cajon blvd that wanda fought so hard to get
memories at chollas lake little league field…the birth of my boys’ love of baseball
tony qwynn stadium, la jolla cove, fourth and broadway, and torrey pines
carl’s jr. on harbor blvd, the dorms on titan drive, the drive up beach blvd, angeles crest camp, and angels stadium
reconnecting with our extended family
remembering youth ministry in the 80’s

a wedding on the beach
being with both sons, all of our women, and the little man…for a whole week…awesome
seeing holden in his first padre hat and his first padre game…geez, i’m a die hard fan
el pollo loco, del taco, las barcas, lucci’s deli, adams street donuts, jose mccoy’s strips and cheese, munchies pizza, rubios, robertos, santanas, casa de pico, and in ‘n out
