So what do you think?

i didn’t write a marriage tuesday yesterday.   sorry.   i was busy buying an old school bus for north point youth ministry.   some things never change,  i suppose.   more on the bus later this week.

you can take today’s post as a little bit of marriage tuesday,  if you want.

i have friends in my life who want no part of the faith journey i walk.   a lot of them.   they feel their lives are just fine without it.   they face their difficulties the best they can.   they try their hardest to make wise choices.   they attempt to be good people and pay their bills and live responsibly.   they also get angry and have fears and have questions they cannot answer.   if the god of the bible is true,  it is of little consequence to the way they choose to live.

some of them walked away from the church years ago.

some of them didn’t.

…and maybe that’s part of the problem.

i read this quote by oswald chambers the other day.   if you don’t know who he is,  take a moment and get acquainted right here.   you’ll be glad you did.   his writing has inspired followers of christ for decades.

Beware of worshipping Jesus as the Son of God, and professing your faith in Him as the Savior of the world, while you blaspheme Him by the complete evidence in your daily life that He is powerless to do anything in and through you.

would this be true of you?   is this true of me?   i wonder if people would be more open to the message of hope they need,  if they saw more evidence of the hope we profess?
