Praise the lord and pass the ammo…

this surfaced a couple of weeks ago, but it’s  now time to break it out…

pastor ken pagano of new bethel church in louisville, ky.,  is encouraging members to bring their handguns to church for an “open carry celebration”.   the event will include patriotic songs, a raffle to give away a free handgun, viewing gun safety videos, checking guns at the door to make sure they’re not loaded and extra security.

“As a Christian pastor I believe that without a deep-seeded belief in God and firearms that this country would not be here,” Pagano told ABCNews.com. “I’m not ashamed of that fact. I’m proud of it.”

look…most of you know that i’m not a gun guy. but i’m not a “hunter hater”.  i’m not a member of PETA.  i will eat cow, pig, chicken and other members of god’s created order without much guilt.  i’m grateful for the police.  i’m not a patriot, but i know what one looks like and offer my most sincere gratitude.

but this is ridiculous.

and you ask why i am reluctant to call myself pastor mike…?
