People leave churches

Writer's picture: Mark RoseMark Rose

(hey,  i’m still in mexico,  so i thought i’d post some things i’ve been writing lately.  we’ll talk about them later!)

people come and go from churches.  people leave dull boring churches.  people leave exciting and vibrant churches.

people leave small churches to go to big churches.  people leave big churches to find smaller, more intimate ones.

people leave churches with rockin’ music.  people leave churches with old fashioned music.

people leave churches when they disagree with what the preacher is preaching.  sometimes they leave even when they agree with everything that’s being taught.

people leave churches after they’ve been hurt.  people leave churches after they’ve hurt people.

people leave churches in search of a better church.  people leave churches looking for something they are not finding at their current church.

people leave churches because they are looking for a new start.

people leave churches because they see something (bad) that others are not seeing.

people leave churches because they are spiritually stagnant and need to hear a fresh message from god.

people leave churches because they are hiding something and don’t want to be found out.

people leave churches to find new friends.

people leave churches because their whole family is not on the same page.

people leave churches in search of inspiration they are not getting where they are.

people leave churches because staying is too painful.

people leave churches because god is clearly calling them to leave.

people leave churches because they think god is clearly calling them to leave.

people leave churches because they have been relocated by jobs or family commitments.

people leave churches for opportunities to serve elsewhere.

people leave churches.

for the record,  i am always sad when someone leaves north point…even if i know their reasons.

hey…it’s family.
