Monday Morning Quarterback

so i needed a little more time to process yesterday.  call the cops…

here’s some things worth remembering from sunday past:

1. it was so cold at 8am, i was doubting if anybody was going to crawl out of their toasty bed and join us!

2. in spite of having a bunch…i mean a huuuuge bunch of our regular folks traveling to lands far and near, we still had a pretty good crowd.

3. the holidays seem to be unusually hard on our crowd consistency every year.  lewisville seems to be much more of a departure locale, rather than a destination during this time of the year.

4. i love that our folks have friends and family that they visit for thanksgiving and christmas and new years, but if it were up to me, i’d tell all those people to get with the program and start reading what the lewisville visitor’s bureau has to say about our hometown.  come on, people!

5. were you excited about seeing scott lead worship, or what?  great job!  here’s the question, though…  was this a step up or a step down from the underground? 

6. also, it was way cool to see stephanie behind the cymbals!  can you imagine trying to be jg’s replacement?  well, she was and she totally pulled it off…and she’s even got her own np story to tell for years to come!

7. we got a 100% affirmation of the 2009 budget!  now it’s time to really put our money where our pencils are…

8. i’m pumped when i think about all the new folks that are calling north point “home”!  not that i have a problem with all the rest of the family…

9. i think one of my favorite parts of every sunday is what happens at the end of the services.  i love having to kick people out so we can go home.  i can’t imagine being part of a church family where everybody rushes out the door as soon as it’s over.

10. later this week, i’m going to rank my top ten favorite places to eat with friends for lunch on sundays.  i know you want to know what i think.

11. i felt like i should have said something pastorally sensitive to all the cowboy fans when i got up to preach, but the words escaped me.  i will say that i wanted to run down to the stadium on saturday night and give wade a hug, though.
