Lessons from the Winter Olympics

Writer's picture: Mark RoseMark Rose

honestly, it completely blows my mind to think about how these athletes train for four years with their eyes set on a prize that can evaporate in an blink…a slip of the blade, a roll of the ankle, an edge of the ski, a buckle of the knee, a split second of lapsed concentration… whatever…and it’s over.   all gone.   dream over.

the mental fortitude and physical discipline it takes to face the potential of instant disaster is beyond anything that i knowingly face.   i’m humbled by their character and determination to pay the price…and take the risk.

what prize are you willing to lay everything on the table for?
