ok. so now that i have your attention, let me tell you about why i posted the picture.
people of the second chance is one of my favorite blogs. in fact, it is more than just a blog…it is a community. here’s what they say about themselves:
We are a global community of activists, imperfectionists and second chancers committed to unleashing radical grace everyday, in every moment, for everyone. We challenge the common misconceptions about failure and success and stand with those who have hit rock bottom in their personal and professional lives. We are a community that is committed to stretch ourselves in the areas of relational forgiveness, personal transparency and advocate for mercy over judgment.
i love what they do. i love what they stand for. i love that there are people out there committed to radical grace.
the picture comes from a campaign they started about a year ago called Labels Lie. it’s about challenging people to stop using labels…and an equal challenge to stop believing them.
we live in a brutal society. gone are the gentle, kinder days of my past. today, it’s shoot or be shot. lie or be lied to. nobody’s mistakes are off limit. nobody’s sins are private. we need more than thick skin. we need kevlar.
go to the POTSC website. read about the Labels Lie campaign. join the movement. be part of a community of people who refuses to dehumanize people…no matter how much better we think we are than them.
oh. wait. did i just say that we think we are better than others? yup. remember, i’ve still got some good pharisee blood in me!
here are some other pictures from the campaign. do they move you like they move me?
no matter what, be people of grace this week. peace.
