Going off-road…the weekly 4×4

1.    i slightly tweaked my back this past week.   not horrible,  but a reminder that i constantly have to be careful.    i hate having to be careful.   it was fun living with reckless abandon back in the day…

2.   it’s a little ruff throwing a thumbs down on this,  but we were all given another caution about how sacred life is.   it’s discouraging to me to see so many people…those who believe and god, as well as those who don’t…who live such flippant, casual,  and purposeless lives.

3.   chargers are off to their normal slow start.   i don’t get it.   for the past three years,  they play like junk for the first six games of the season…no consistency…no intensity…looking like a bottom dweller…and then they come on to be one of the best teams in football in the second half.   better than nothing,  but this drives me nuts.

4.   it’s been over five years since i’ve played my guitar as much as i have in the past two days.   the tips of my fingers are screaming in pain.   it hurts to type.   what a wuss…

1.   i have had some great conversations with my boys lately.   honest.   transparent.   sometimes difficult.   deep and meaningful.   i love chris and corey.   i love the women they married.

2.   i know i complained last week about 24 no longer being on the tube.   even though i miss jack bauer and the intensity of saving the world as we know it every week,  i think wanda and i might have found some pretty good replacements:  the event and  the outlaw. stay tuned.   you may get some commentary on these shows.

3.   i got steroid shots in my knees this past wednesday.   my legs  feel 15 years younger every time i get the injections.   you may think it makes  a-rod,  manny,  roger c. , and the rest all look like cheaters…so be it.   gimme another shot!

4.   can’t wait.   tomorrow is going to be the first 50 degree morning of the fall.   the season is officially changing.   yessss.
