Biggest Loser Weekly Results

okay…our teams have definitely hit “the wall”.

team madre – 9 pounds lost   (113 total pounds)

team padre – 7 pounds lost   (99 total pounds lost)

after some quick initial weight loss,  both teams seems to be struggling to keep the pace.   this is not a problem! remember…we made the commitment to be in this over the long haul.

the other thing to remember is that, collectively, we have have lost 212 pounds!! that’s amazing.   in just five short weeks,  we have made a huge dent in the problem of overweightness.   and whether you have lost a lot or a little,  you are part of this.   your name on a team is inspiration.   your decision to give it a shot means something to the rest of us.

so hang in there.  this is a new week.

personally, here’s a lesson i’m learning.   over the past 35 years,  i’ve lost and gained the same 45 pounds at least 10 different times.   i’ve read that’s not healthy.   hopefully, i’ve not done some internal damage to my system that will ultimately show up when i’m in a wheel chair.

so obviously,  weight loss is something i can manage.   the thing i apparently can’t manage is keeping it off.   i can discipline myself  to take the weight off,  but then i just give myself permission to go back and eat the same way i did before the weight loss.   kind of like a reward,  i guess.

i’m trying to do something different this time.   instead of rapid weight loss,  my goal is to average 1-2 pounds per week over the course of this five month plan.   that could be 30 pounds by june 1!    instead of being discouraged by a week with no weight lost (or a half a pound),  i’m trying to see the bigger picture.   some weeks are simply plateaus that are needed to let the weight loss catch up with the changes in our bodies and eating habits.

for the record,  i have lost 10 pounds in 5 weeks.   pretty cool.

if you want some personal encouragement or some insight into my eating plan (which i am totally in to…), send me an email or give me a call.

have an awesome week.
