A great moment

Writer's picture: Mark RoseMark Rose

there was a moment in our second hour that was nearly overwhelming to me.

i love music.   i used to love to play.   i still love to sing…not too great…but i do it anyway.   i’ve always believed that singing is good for the soul and we are commanded by the word to sing to each other  (“speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.   sing and make music in your heart to the  lord.”   ephesians 5:19)

i’m continually blown away by the commitment our band makes to playing and singing and leading our family in making music to god…and encouraging each other.   i’m humbled to know that buzzy carefully crafts the songs we sing to match where he senses i am heading in my sermons.   his diligence inspires me.

but not even buzzy and his hard word…nor the feeble prayers of the faithful…could have formed the moments following the sermon that were created when we sang the lyrics to “since the world began”.

absolutely a moment that was given as a gift of the holy spirit for me.   maybe for you, too.

here’s the song.   if you were with us this morning,  you might remember the moment.   if you weren’t,  maybe it will transport you there.

by the way,  for you music critics out there…mac powell,  shawn lewis and laura story don’t have anything on buzzy and erin when it comes to singing this song.
