i’m a recreational tv watcher. in a world of pain and suffering…and the reality of brokenness that i deal with on a daily basis…watching some make-believe is sometimes a really welcome relief. so much for my justification.
in the spirit of year end analysis, i decided to make some lists a few weeks ago. here’s one of the first ones i’ll give you:
my top ten favorite television shows of the decade (2000 – 2009)
in case you’re not sure, here it is in english:
#10 – “the closer”…she’s the best television cop ever
#9 – “boston legal”…william shatner is my favorite tv comic
#8 – “monk”…monk made ocd cool
#7 – “the office”…i know these people
#6 – “diners, drive-ins and dives”…guy has the job i want
#5 – “alias”…best kick-butt female character of all time
#4 – “the west wing”…unbelievable lessons on leadership
#3 – “friday night lights”…absolute must for youth ministry
#2 – “24”…i am a card-carrying bauerhead
#1 – “pardon the interruption”…pure sports talk greatness!
guilty pleasures that didn’t make the list: the daily show, 30 rock, arrested development, veronica marrs (set in san diego), mxc…do you remember?, made (on mtv), scrubs, flip this house, and dirty jobs.
one of these days, i’m probably going to watch “lost” and “the wire”. my guess is they might move into my top ten of the decade, once i finally watch them.
